Guidelines for Curricula & Training

Empowering communities in the fight against trafficking of cultural goods

The fight against illicit trafficking of cultural property requires coordinated action across diverse professional communities. ANCHISE proposes a comprehensive guidebook providing adaptable training frameworks designed to strengthen capacity building at local, national, and international levels.

Developed through ANCHISE's multidisciplinary expertise and field experience, these guidelines address five professional communities: archaeologists, museum professionals, law enforcement agencies, art market actors, and provenance researchers. Each curriculum module combines theoretical foundations with practical applications.

The guidelines follow a modular structure, offering flexible formats ranging from one-day intensive sessions to semester-long academic programmes. This adaptability ensures institutions can implement training according to their specific contexts, resources, and target audiences.

These guidelines are part of a larger report on capacity building activities done in the framework of the ANCHISE project: it contains a mapping of existing courses and training, case studies, the training programme models and their comparison.
